![]() HEADQUARTERS 3rd Infantry Division United States Army AWARD COMMENDATION TO ALL WHO SHALL SEE THESE PRESENTS, GREETING: This is to certify that the Bronze Star Medal is awarded to: Sergeant Tristan Moses 3rd Infantry Division FOR: Sergeant Tristan Moses, United States Army, distinguished himself by heroic achievement while serving as a Medical Specialist with 1st Platoon, Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment during combat operations on the Island of Everon on 15 January 1989. In the opening hours of the Soviet invasion, enemy forces launched a massive and unexpected combined assault involving mechanized infantry and rotary-wing air assets. Under heavy and sustained enemy fire, Sergeant Moses moved fearlessly between wounded soldiers, providing critical life-saving treatment in exposed positions. Despite direct fire impacting within meters of his location, Sergeant Moses treated over a dozen casualties, applying tourniquets, chest seals, and administering intravenous fluids while coordinating casualty evacuation under fire. When the platoon was forced to fall back, he assumed responsibility for reorganizing the triage point, salvaging supplies, and leading the care of the wounded with no regard for his own safety. His calm leadership and decisive medical actions were instrumental in saving multiple lives and maintaining unit morale and combat readiness. Sergeant Moses’ heroic actions, performed under direct and immediate threat, reflect great credit upon himself, the Medical Corps, and the United States Army.
